About the presenter

Katie McFadien is a Licensed Social Worker at Penn Medicine’s Department of Radiation Oncology where she works with patients receiving proton and photon therapy for breast, gynecologic and lung cancers. Katie has experience as a home and inpatient hospice social worker and has led caregiver support groups in the hospice setting. As a member of Philadelphia’s Cancer Transportation Advocacy Group, she focuses on addressing transportation barriers for patients receiving cancer treatment in the Greater Philadelphia region. She is also a Pennsylvania State Representative of the Association of Oncology Social Work, with a focus of providing networking and educational opportunities to her Oncology Social Work colleagues.
