Topics Covered: The purpose of this program is to provide clinical social workers, psychologists, psychiatric nurse practitioners and other health care professionals an overview of the predominant psychosocial and palliative care issues in the oncology setting as well as specific skills that can be used in working with cancer patients and their families.

Conference Objectives:

  • Identify the primary psychosocial issues faced by cancer patients and their families/caregivers.
  • Recommend a range of interventions and services to be offered within the oncology setting.
  • Integrate the concepts of palliative care into psychosocial practice.

Who Should Attend: Clinical social workers, psychologists, nurses, hospice professionals, psychiatric nurse practitioners, chaplains and other health care professionals who provide psychosocial care for patients with cancer.
