Conference Objectives: The meeting brings together scientists and physicians from both academia and the private sector, whose work is capitalizing on utilizing regenerative medicine to address specific human disease. Conference Agenda: MGH-KI-Nature Medicine Days of Molecular Medicine: Co-organized by the Cardiovascular Research Center at MGH, the Karolinska Institute and Nature Medicine, this interdisciplinary two and a half day symposium is held every spring, rotating between Boston, Massachusetts and Stockholm, Sweden. The meeting brings together scientists and physicians from both academia and the private sector, whose work is capitalizing on utilizing regenerative medicine to address specific human disease. This symposium will highlight emerging work by leaders in this field, creating new bridges between multiple disciplines. The Days of Molecular Medicine 2007 will be held from May 22nd-24th in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The event, entitled Emerging Technologies of Cancer Biology, will draw hundreds of scientists from around the world. In addition, each Days of Molecular Medicine meeting features a forum, which this year will focus on Cancer and Cardiovascular Disease in Global Health. Furthermore, The Days of Molecular Medicine hosts travel scholarships for MD-PhD students. Students are selected from the highest caliber MD-PhD's programs throughout the world. Each selected student presents a short oral presentation and poster during the symposium on their ongoing work within the context of the meeting.

Agency to review products launched after Feb. 15, 2007; will consider questions of public health

Jan 6, 2011 - The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced today that certain tobacco products, including cigarettes, roll-your-own tobacco, and all smokeless products, introduced or changed in the United States after Feb. 15, 2007, must be reviewed by the agency. In its newly published guidance, the agency says that any company marketing a tobacco product must prove that the product is "substantially equivalent" to products commercially available on Feb. 15, 2007.
