Topics Covered: If you see patients with non-malignant hematologic disorders infrequently and would like to update your core knowledge of hematology, then this refresher course is for you. The half-day program will cover commonly encountered clinical problems that arise in everyday practice and require the expertise of a hematologist. It will focus on non-malignant hematology and will use case-based presentations and interactive discussions. The hands-on course will be led by faculty familiar with consultative practice issues.
Objectives: The goal of the Consultative Hematology Course is to update attendees' core knowledge of non-malignant hematology disorders and will cover commonly encountered clinical problems that arise in everyday practice and require the expertise of a hematologist.

Dec 9, 2014 - In a small new trial, a form of treatment based on the body's immune system appears to be helping patients with Hodgkin's lymphoma for whom other treatments have failed. The study was published online Dec. 6 in the New England Journal of Medicine to coincide with its expected presentation on Saturday at the annual meeting of the American Society of Hematology, held from Dec. 6 to 9 in San Francisco.
