ACCR: Cancer Genes Expressed in Smokers' Airway Epithelium

Jan 12, 2012 - Expression of genes associated with progression toward lung cancer is significantly increased in the large airway epithelium of healthy smokers; and high-throughput methodology can be used to investigate genetic mutations, using small amounts of DNA from non-small-cell lung cancer circulating tumor cells, according to two studies presented at the AACR-IASLC Joint Conference on Molecular Origins of Lung Cancer: Biology, Therapy, and Personalized Medicine, held from Jan. 8 to 11 in San Diego.
