Conference Objectives: The national, full-day conference will educate and support women on the unique medical, practical and emotional concerns of women living with advanced (metastatic) disease.
Who Should Attend: Women living with metastatic breast cancer, their caregivers, nurses, social workers and other health care providers who deal with women affected by breast cancer
Conference Agenda: Empower yourself with information you can use at our Conference for Women Living With Advanced Breast Cancer: Enhancing Your Health and Quality of Life from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 14, at the Philadelphia Marriott West, just outside Philadelphia. The program will begin with a keynote presentation by one of the worlds foremost authorities on metastatic breast cancer. Julie R. Gralow, MD, a medical oncologist from the University of Washington. Dr. Gralow has dedicated her career to finding new and novel therapies for women affected by breast cancer. She will discuss the latest medical treatments, open clinical trials and hot research developments. After lunch, attend one of our workshops on symptom and side-effect management, clinical trials, the emotional impact of your diagnosis and end-of-life concerns. To offer you more time for networking, we are offering four break-out sessions on coping and finding support, communication with loved ones, financial planning and health insurance issue and employment and disability concerns. Your questions will drive the conversation. At the end of the day, we will gather together again and help you process and integrate what you have learned.
