Topics: The Cancer, Culture and Literacy Institute is a series of educational activities that examine the nexus of culture and literacy relating to effective communications and research. The Institute encompasses a five-day hands-on intensive learning experience at the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute in Tampa, Florida (January 8-12, 2002), web-based educational experience, and a yearlong mentoring experience with a nationally renowned scholar involved in this area of scientific inquiry. A yearlong commitment is expected, where applicants apply new knowledge in research activities.
