For the last two summers, I have volunteered part of my summer to document the Mid-Missouri Camp Quality experience. Camp Quality is a summer camp for children with cancer and their siblings. The children participating in the camp are fighters and have no intention of giving up.

The first summer, I did the work because I believed it would be an interesting experience and would challenge my skills. The second summer, I did it because I had fallen in love with the children. I believe very strongly in what the camp stands for.

The images I made show happy children who have escaped, at least for a short time, the pressure of a chronic illness.
