David Bradley Children's Bereavement Program

The David Bradley Children's Bereavement Program was established in 1998 to honor the memory of David Bradley, son of a dedicated Penn Wissahickon Hospice Volunteer. The mission of the David Bradley Children's Bereavement Program is to provide a comprehensive, ongoing program of educational and supportive services to help children and adolescents at all developmental levels cope with terminal illness and death related to losses.

Through individual counseling and workshops, the David Bradley Children's Bereavement Program offers children and teens the support they need to cope with the death of a loved one.

Individual Counseling

The Children's Bereavement Counselor is available to do home or site visits. Home visits are offered for children of Penn Wissahickon Hospice families. Phone consultation or a school visit are available to children in the community.

Workshops

Various workshops are sponsored throughout the year. Children and teens have the opportunity to meet and talk with peers who have experienced a death. Membership is open to all young people in the community. Workshops are offered free of charge, although pre-registration is required.

Community Outreach and Education

The David Bradley Children's Bereavement Program can provide literature, resource materials and referral assistance. A counselor is available to speak to school, community and religious groups.
