Tools You Can Use!

The Nurse Notes section has gotten a spring-clean up, making it easier to find what you need. There are a few new tools in this section that you may find helpful…

The Patient and Family Education Center continues to add to the long list of medication teaching sheets and symptom management handouts. Is there one you'd like to see on the list? Just let us know.

The OncoLink Rx Regimen Printer is an easy way to print teaching sheets for multi-drug regimens. Just choose the regimen you want and all the drug information sheets for that regimen will be combined and pop-up in one printer friendly document. To avoid confusion when a regimen is used for different cancer types, but referred to by different acronyms, some regimens are listed by the main component. For instance, all platinum regimens are grouped together.

The Nurses Forum is a new discussion board to allow nurses to post practice questions or tips and reply to colleagues in need of suggestions. Check out the forum and join the conversation! Is there a topic you'd like added to the forum? Just let us know.

Continuing Education

Have you checked out OncoLink's free continuing education modules lately? Thanks to the University of Pennsylvania, Class of 2010 NP students, there are 14 modules covering relevant practice topics.

The Blog & Monthly Webchats

Oncolink's Editor-in-Chief, James Metz, MD, has finally taken pen to paper with his often boisterously shared opinions in a blog. Blame it on the rest of the editorial staff, yes, we have been encouraging this! What's New with the LIVESTRONG Care Plan?

Our care plan team just had a nice nursing resources article published in the American Journal of Nursing! The full text of "Preparing Patients for Life After Cancer" is available free online, so check it out.

We are currently hard at work on version 8 of the LIVESTRONG Care Plan, which is planned for a late summer launch. The most noticeable addition in version 8 is a separate primary care provider summary that patients can take to their PCP. We hope this will help bridge the gap as patients transition to survivorship. Would you like LIVESTRONG Care Plan flyers for your office/unit? Just contact us and we will be happy to send them. Remember, we love to hear your feedback; it is often your opinions that inspire changes and improvements in the program.
