How can I find a support group for my wife going through cancer treatment? What about for spouses?

Christina Bach, Oncology Social Worker at Penn Medicine responds:

There are support groups available in many communities, but also online. You can start by contacting the American Cancer Society (800-ACS-2345; www.cancer.org), which maintains a national database of support group resources.

Your treatment site my offer a support group as well the local branch of the Cancer Support Community http://www.cancersupportcommunity.org/ often offer groups for both patients and spouses.

There are also many sources for online and phone based support groups including Cancer Care http://www.cancercare.org/support_groups

and great supportive guidance through PanCan (Pancreatic Cancer Action Network) via http://www.pancan.org/#
