How long after being exposed to asbestos does mesothelioma take to develop?

Most patients have an exposure to asbestos at least 10 years before their cancer developed, and usually twenty-five or more years after exposure. However, mesothelioma can even develop 50 years after asbestos exposure. Learn more about exposure and the development of mesothelioma on OncoLink.
