Question How long after being exposed to asbestos does mesothelioma take to develop? Answer Joe Friedberg, MD, Thoracic Surgeon at Penn Medicine, responds: Most patients have an exposure to asbestos at least 10 years before their cancer developed, and usually twenty-five or more years after exposure.
