Question What is an FNA? Answer Christine Hill-Kayser, MD, Radiation Oncologist, responds: This stands for fine needle aspiration. This is a biopsy method during which a large needle is used to withdraw fluid and cells. The cells are then examined under a microscope to assess whether a cancer is present.
