Support for Newly Diagnosed
My sister was recently diagnosed with metastatic thyroid cancer. How can I help her? What can I do/say?
Michelle LeBeau, Thyroid Cancer Survivor and Founder of REACT Thyroid Foundation responds:
As a metastatic thyroid cancer patient myself, I have relied heavily on the support from my family and my sister. Her just knowing that you are there to listen and give her support will do wonders. I also found it very important to have someone to attend my doctor appointments with me and help take notes. There will be a lot of information for her to learn, digest and make decisions about. You could greatly help her in that area.
