Your doctor may order drugs to be given through your feeding tube. It is best to get the medication in a liquid form. If a medication is not available in liquid form, pills must be crushed and dissolved completely in warm water. Some drugs such as, "sustained release" or enteric coated medicines should not be crushed. Check with your doctor prior to crushing drugs.
