We Are A Pair

Cancer has given me a new perspective on how I view life and the opportunity to try new things. This was the first time I had attempted to knit a pair of socks. My daughter and I spent a lot of time together knitting socks during the crisis in my life. I kept my focus on my goal to complete the socks during my treatment. This form of art helped to keep my attitude and outlook positive. This quality time together strengthened our relationship.
This February my mother, my very close friend, was diagnosed with
breast cancer. My intense focus on my mother during this time has made
me aware of her incredible strength and determination, as well as my

... Almost to the heel
we are a pair
seen on the couch or
side by side
hoping the socks would be completed
and the body
survive to wear them...
