Cancer Management: A Multidisciplinary Approach is a complete handbook for medical, radiation, and surgical oncology health care providers. The principle authors have gathered 89 contributors for the third edition of this handbook. There is diverse contribution throughout the book emphasizing a multimodality approach. The principle authors are all distinguished physicians in each of their respective specialties. Richard Pazdur, MD is a Professor of Medicine at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. Lawrence R. Coia, MD is the Chairman of Radiation Oncology at Community Medical Center in Toms River, NJ. William J. Hoskins, MD is Deputy Physician in Chief and director of the Gynecology service at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Lawrence R. Wagman, MD is Chairman of Surgery at the City of Hope National Medical Center.

This handbook contains up-to-date information on the most common cancers and clinical situations faced by oncologists. The book contains 42 chapters, each arranged in a similar format for easy reference. Each chapter on a particular cancer includes the epidemiology, etiology and risk factors, screening and prevention, signs and symptoms, staging and prognosis, diagnosis and evaluation, and pathology. Each chapter than addresses the appropriate treatment options with an emphasis of a multi-modality approach. The handbook selectively references only the most important studies that impact the management of cancer patients. The handbook includes a section containing common chemotherapy regimens for solid tumors and describes the dosage, premedication, and number of cycles recommended for a particular cancer.

Every major cancer is addressed concisely. The handbook includes practical information that the oncologist needs at the bedside. The handbook is easily carried in a lab coat on the medical floors. The book is also an excellent reference for residents and adjunct for study for the Board Exams.
