Each chapter on a particular cancer includes the epidemiology, etiology and risk factors, screening and prevention, signs and symptoms, staging and prognosis, diagnosis and evaluation, and pathology. Each chapter than addresses the appropriate treatment options with an emphasis of a multi-modality approach. The handbook selectively references only the most important studies that impact the management of cancer patients. The handbook includes a section containing common chemotherapy regimens for solid tumors and describes the dosage, premedication, and number of cycles recommended for a particular cancer.

Every major cancer is addressed concisely. The handbook includes practical information that the oncologist needs at the bedside. The handbook is easily carried in a lab coat on the medical floors. The book is also an excellent reference for residents and adjunct for study for the Board Exams.
