ASH: Novel Drug Beneficial in Multiple Myeloma

Oct 20, 2014 - In patients with relapsed or resistant multiple myeloma who have received up to three prior therapies excluding the first-generation proteasome inhibitor bortezomib, treatment with the second-generation proteasome inhibitor carfilzomib is associated a high response rate and a low incidence of side effects, according to research presented at the annual meeting of the American Society of Hematology, held from Dec. 5 to 8 in New Orleans.
