Treatment

Brachytherapy for Gynecologic Cancers

Brachytherapy is a type of internal radiation that can be used for cervical or endometrial (uterine) cancer treatment and is typically done using a “tandem and ovoid” applicator or a “tandem and ring” applicator.

Internal Radiation Therapy (Brachytherapy)

Brachytherapy is used to deliver radiation doses at levels high enough to control the cancer, while at the same time minimizing exposure to normal tissues and is most often used to treat cancers of the uterus, cervix, and prostate.
