Calming the Cyclone

On this most terrible
And awful day
I made it through
I did o.k.
A nap helped
When the what-if's
And what-for's
And bit at me
How can
One man
Challenge destiny?
How can
He not try?
Like a dog
Barking threats, greetings
And admonishments
At passer's-by
Or disinclined
To effect
Their life lessons
Just hope for the best
Think the best
Pray for the best...
