Multiple myeloma outcomes have been improving thanks to treatment advances and the availability of new medication classes. Oncology nurses play a critical role in multiple myeloma care and keeping up with the nursing implications of new agents is key to helping patients achieve their therapeutic goals.
As treatment options and strategies in multiple myeloma (MM) rapidly evolve, oncology nursing professionals will continue to be challenged to manage patients with MM according to the most recent treatment recommendations. Additionally, new agents have adverse event profiles that differ from standard chemotherapy and require new strategies for monitoring and management. Therefore, oncology nursing professionals will benefit from continuing education that assists them in keeping up to date on changes in treatment combinations and sequencing of regimens, as well as enhances their skills in managing medication-related adverse effects.
This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of oncology nurses, nurse practitioners, and navigators engaged in the care of patients with multiple myeloma. Other healthcare providers may also participate.
