Surgical Procedures: Nephrectomy Due to Cancer

A nephrectomy is a surgical procedure in which all or part of one or both kidneys are removed. It is used in the treatment of kidney cancer. The amount of kidney removed will be determined by your provider as part of your treatment plan. 

Radiation Treatments for Kidney Cancer

Although not often used in the treatment of kidney cancer, radiation therapy can at times be used to treat kidney cancer or as treatment for metastasis. This article is an introduction to radiation therapy for kidney cancer and potential side effects of treatment.
