Recipe: Chocolate Peanut Butter Smoothie By Maggie Hampshire, RN, BSN, June 5, 2009

This shake is high in calories and protein. It is ideal for folks who are struggling with weight loss and difficulty swallowing during treatment.

Ingredients

1 cup 2% milk
1 frozen banana (medium size, 7-8 inches)
1/3 cup powdered nonfat milk
2 Tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1/3 cup peanut butter

Instructions

Put all ingredients into a blender and mix until smooth.

Some tips

We keep a Ziploc bag of frozen bananas (already peeled) in the freezer at all times. When my bananas are getting a little too ripe, I add them to the bag in the freezer.
