A Survivor

Will I be a survivor
Or wind up a statistic instead
As I go through the treatments
I wonder what lies ahead

After the treatment is over
You can relax for a while
And if things go real good
You might even smile

Is the cancer gone
Did the treatment do its thing
Or will my PSA rise again
And with it trouble bring

Now's a time for just waiting
For tests to be done
To see if this round
Is one that you have won

If my PSA stays stable
And doesn't show a rise
I will be a survivor
You won't hear of my demise.
